Creating your Facebook page can be done in minutes, but how to get more Facebook fans and growing your audience takes quite a bit more effort. Fortunately for you, there are plenty of ways to do this. Here, we'll run down seven of the easiest how to and most cost-effective ways to get more Facebook fans.

1) Optimize Page with Keywords

Google is now able to index public Facebook pages and posts and include them on their search results. Facebook, with its own search engine, also ranks pages according to their search relevance to a given query. Get more Facebook fans by identifying keywords and applying them throughout your page, including the page URL. Note that you need a minimum of 25 fans to be eligible for a vanity URL.

2) How To Use Facebook Ads
Facebook's own advertising platform allows you to target a campaign to specific demographics and markets that you're aiming to attract to your page. Click the "Advertising" link at Facebook page's footer and you'll be brought to a wizard where you can filter your targeted audience to your exact demographics and specify your ad placement details so you can determine your final cost. If you have a small budget, you can still place ads during important days of the year for your page. For example, if you're running a series of holiday videos on your page, it would make sense to run the Facebook ad in December.

You've probably seen one already: a box, usually found on the side bar of a webpage. where you can see the number of likes, a listing of users and their profile photos, and a Facebook stream to show recent posts and a backlink that will bring you to the page. It's a nifty widget for getting more Facebook fans because it lets your external audience to know of your Facebook presence and encourage them to join you there. For instance, they might see a friend who already liked your page and may wish to do so as well. Or perhaps see an interesting post from a few days ago and decide to read it.

4) Build on the Audience You Already Have

If you already have mailing lists, a subscriber base, a huge network on your personal Facebook account, a WordPress blog or some other form of Internet real estate, then you can add a call to action for selected communications on these platforms. It can be as simple as adding a "Join me on Facebook" invite on your email signature line or adding a Like plugin on your WordPress blog. Offline properties also count, so make sure to include your Facebook Advertising page's URL on your business cards, print marketing materials, and place of business. Even better, incentivize the invite by providing a small gift, discount or exclusive content for those who will click through.

How to create a teaser landing page for non-fans where you can provide compelling reasons for them to click like.
